Calvert County Government via Facebook

Lorraine has worked for Calvert County Government for 19 years. As an Executive Administrative Assistant, she performs a wide variety of administrative work. She also receives calls from citizens inquiring about senior services, housing, financial assistance, and many other topics. Lorraine helps citizens learn about organizations that can help. Lorraine noted that the department is very important because it bridges the gap between the citizens and the local health department, Department of Social Services, the Housing Authority, advocacy groups, counseling services and other vital supports.

“Community Resources helps connect people with resources,” Lorraine said. “If they call, we can help them learn to advocate for themselves and get the answers they need. Providing that information is critical.”

Lorraine attended the College of Southern Maryland where she received an associate’s degree in communication. Lorraine began her career with county government as a temporary employee in Inspections & Permits. In May of 2000 she was hired as an office assistant with Calvert County’s Local Management Board, Calvert County Family Network. She was promoted to evaluation and monitoring specialist before transferring to her current position with Community Resources.

In her free time, Lorraine likes to read, garden, square dance, line dance, and spend time with family, including her new grandson. She also serves as chair of county government’s Employee Recognition Committee. Lorraine loves being a part of the ERC. “We have a phenomenally talented and enthusiastic team,” Lorraine said. “I’m proud of the work we do to improve morale and promote engagement across departments.”

Thank you for all that you do Lorraine.
