Calvert County Public Schools via Facebook

From Principal Jason Patton: If you have ever visited Dowell Elementary School, I am sure you have walked away with a smile on your face after interacting with Ms. Brooks. Nykisha Brooks makes everyone that visits the front office feel like family. She is caring, compassionate and committed to doing whatever it takes to serve our students, staff and community members.

Ms. Brooks starts every morning on the other end of the county as she drives a long distance to arrive at her second home. Dowell Elementary is lucky to have someone who is willing to dedicate this amount of time on the road to serve her school. Ms. Brooks is not only a secretary, she is a nurse, counselor, teacher, mentor and friend. Ms. Brooks tackles the most difficult problems with creative and professional solutions.

Ms. Brooks’ positive attitude, relentless work ethic, drive, and passion for what she does are exemplified through her actions every day. We are so proud of the impact Ms. Brooks has made on everyone she encounters daily and congratulate her on the well-deserved recognition.
