The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners presented college scholarships to three high school students as part of the Calvert County Government Employee Recognition Committee’s (ERC) annual scholarship program. Two dependents of county government employees and one high school senior employed by Calvert County Government received scholarships following an application process and ERC judging.

Leondardtown High School student Samuel Dichter, son of Chief Animal Control Officer Craig Dichter, received a $1,500 scholarship. Patuxent High School student Jacob Gill, son of Calvert Marine Museum Membership/Development Coordinator Vanessa Gill, was awarded a $750 scholarship. Drew Moreland, a high school senior working for the county and son of Department of Community Resources Director Jennifer Moreland, also received a $750 scholarship.

The annual scholarships are sponsored by the ERC with money raised through fundraising efforts conducted throughout the year. Congratulations to the winners.
