He’s awesome Dad because he is sets an example for our son in so many ways. He’s teaching him what having a strong work ethic looks like, that doing a job to the best of your ability is what is expected. He teaches him integrity by modeling it, and reminding him that true character is what you do when no one is watching.
He is teaching him how to do home repairs/improvements, car repairs, and telling him how much money we save when he can fix things himself. He shows him the importance of being a good neighbor, by helping out ours when they need him.
He’s also showing him by example how to love a woman – and I am the one that gets blessed with that! From opening and holding doors for me, to taking my hand when terrain is uneven, and especially loving me when I’m a little unlovable. He shows our son what sacrificial love looks like
He also teaches our son the importance of serving others. Twice a month we all serve on the Coffee ministry at Emmanuel Church. Our son is now known as the church’s official donut stacker!
Most importantly, through his faith in Jesus Christ, he’s shaping our son’s faith. Even when times are tough, My husband is showing his son in every single circumstance that God is with us, no matter what!
Every single one of these things can’t be taught through mere words alone. They must be modeled, over the course of a child’s upbringing. He’s such an awesome dad and I’m so proud to be his wife and blessed to walk alongside him!
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads in Calvert County!
