Sections of two local roads in St. Mary’s County are still closed this week as a result of widespread flooding on Monday. More than 4 inches of rain fell in parts of St. Mary’s in the span of two hours Monday morning. 

Spruce Drive in the Town Creek neighborhood in Lexington Park is closed but is expected to be reopened by the end of this week, according to the St. Mary’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation.

Cox Drive in the Country Lakes neighborhood in Mechanicsville is closed and is expected to remain so for another two weeks, according to the DPW&T. (Images courtesy of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office)
