Many thanks to the Community Bank of the Chesapeake for a generous donation of $12,500 to the Calvert County School Foundation. The money will be used to fund grants for school system employees who propose innovative activities not covered by the general operating budget.

Last year, the Foundation awarded grants that increased parent access to community resources, funded field trips for students and collaborative planning for teachers, and purchased dry-erase tables for math instruction, among other creative projects.
