News Release, Calvert County Government

Prince Frederick, MD- Cynthia Holland has worked for Calvert County Government since 2015. Her position is multifaceted, with duties ranging from tracking county-owned items to reusing and selling the surplus. Cynthia audits each department’s inventory annually to accurately maintain a database of heavy equipment, vehicles, buildings, land and more.

She is always looking for ways to improve the inventory process. Should there be a need, an employee can request something from surplus, rather than purchasing it brand new. Additionally, when the county no longer has use for an item, she will post it for sale onGovDeals.com.

One of the most rewarding parts of Cynthia’s job is saving the county money. “I call it the circle of life,” Cynthia said. “Used assets can be used somewhere else and we save the county money. That’s what I love about my job, especially because I’m a resident, too.”

When Cynthia is not saving the county money, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, putting together puzzles and spoiling her dog, Remy. Thank you for all that you do, Cynthia
