News Release, St. Mary’s College of Maryland

On Monday, August 19, St. Mary’s College alumnus Durryle Brooks ’06 was sworn in to the Baltimore City School Board. Brooks is a strong local educator and advocate for racial equity and LGBTQ rights, with strong ties to the faith-based community and deep roots in Baltimore.  

Brooks is the founder and president of Love and Justice Consulting, a diversity and social justice education capacity building firm. Brooks works to increase the capacity of leaders to engage difference in order to bring about positive change in culture, communities, organizations, and society at large.

Brooks graduated from St. Mary’s College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts, received his Master of Arts from San Francisco State University in 2009, and his PhD from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017.
