NOISE ADVISORY UPDATE 2:09 p.m. – Controlled Detonation at NAS Patuxent River Scheduled for September 19, 2019, Complete

NAS Patuxent River safely completed its single controlled detonation of unusable Marine Location Markers on the grounds of NAS Patuxent River between shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019.

NAS Patuxent River appreciates the patience of the surrounding community during this operation.


NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – NAS Patuxent River is scheduled to conduct a single controlled detonation of unusable Marine Location Markers on the grounds of NAS Patuxent River between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019.

EOD, Pax River Emergency Services, and Explosive Safety personnel will be on scene to ensure the area is safe and secure before conducting any detonations.

There is no threat to the public because of this operation, but the detonation may be heard in communities surrounding NAS Patuxent River.

NAS Patuxent River will send an update when the event has concluded.
