ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – D3Soccer.com released its latest national poll on Tuesday (Sept. 17) and the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s soccer team (5-0) checked in as the 24th ranked team in the country. The Seahawks moved up one spot up from last week’s poll. In addition, St. Mary’s College enters this week as the fifth-ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic Region rankings.

The Seahawks picked up 193 points in the latest edition of the D3Soccer.com poll after turning in a 1-0 week, defeating Stevenson 4-1 on Sept. 14.

Tufts University remained the No. 1 team in the nation garnering 1,000 points and 23 first-place votes. The rest of the top five included Kenyon College at No. 5 with 779 points, SUNY Oneonta at No. 4 with 863 points, John Carroll University at No. 3 with 910 points, and Amherst College at No. 2 with 939 points. Capital Athletic Conference rival the University of Mary Washington moved up four spots to No. 12 as they improved to 4-1-1 on the season.

St. Mary’s College returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when it travels to Swarthmore College for a 7 p.m. match.
