North Beach VFD Auxiliary’s Yard Sale will be held from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm every 2nd Saturday of the month from April to October. Please contact Diana after 5:00 pm, at 410/231-1775 to reserve a table.

September 27 – BBQ Meats with all the trimmings.   Hosted by the American Legion  Stallings-WilliamsPost 206  from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. this is a meal you won’t soon forget. Come to the lower-level dining room.  Cost is $12 including sides and beverage.  The Post is on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach and questions may be directed to (410)257-9878.  Public warmly invited.

October 5- 10 am-12 pm — The Calvert County Department of Public Safety, Animal Control Division, and the Calvert County Health Department are sponsoring a rabies clinic to offer free rabies vaccinations for pets. The event will be held at the Calvert County Fairgrounds.  For more information, click here.

October 5- 8 am-9 pm — Make a Splash During Parks & Recreation FREE Community Day: The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation will host a free community day at the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center. Citizens are invited to take a swim, participate in fitness activities and win prizes. Residents are encouraged to visit the hall located at 130 Auto Drive in Prince Frederick during normal operating hours of 8 am-9 pm with the children’s pool opening at noon.

October 11 through November 22, 1-3 pm — “Stepping On”: The Calvert County Office of Aging is excited to bring citizens “Stepping On”, a seven-week falls prevention program for Calvert County seniors.  The free program brings in experts from the community to teach strength and balance exercises along with other strategies to prevent falls. Class sessions will be held on Fridays, October 11 through November 22, from 1-3 pm at Calvert Pines Senior Center in Prince Frederick. Seating is limited, please call (410) 535-4606, ext. 121, to sign up.


October 19 — 2:00 pm – 11 pm OKTOBERFEST at American Legion Post 206 — Chesapeake Beach. Music by Mike Surratt and the Continentals,

October 21 — The Knights of Columbus Calvert Council 7870 is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive at St. Anthony’s Church Padua Hall from 1:00-7:00 pm.  Recommend registering for an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org (Sponsor: St Anthony’s Church, 8816 Chesapeake Ave, North Beach).

October 23 – 31 is Red Ribbon Week —Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.

October 25th- CLASSIC ROCK CONCERT at American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach, MD featuring “Out of Order & Friends”.  For an event flyer, click here.

2020 Census Preparation – As a normal part of the 2020 Census preparation and data collection process you will notice census takers in the neighborhood. Census field representatives are currently doing address canvassing for Calvert County and across the United States. The representatives also continue to collect information for the American Community Survey (ACS) and other ongoing surveys.
