FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its weekly awards following the fifth week of the 2019 field hockey season. St. Mary’s College senior goalkeeper Kelbey Egerland claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.

Egerland started both games in goal and earned two victories on the week. The Seahawks improved to 9-0, which is the best start in program history. Egerland currently leads the CAC in save percentage (81.8%), goals against (4), and goals against average (0.50).

The Seahawk field hockey team will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5 when they host Neumann at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium during Hawktoberfest. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
