Lexington Park, MD- At approximately 9:10 p.m. this evening a serious motor vehicle crash was reported on Three Notch Road in the area of Pegg Road. Units arrived on the scene to discover a two-vehicle crash with at least one person trapped. The St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office closed MD. Rt. 235(NB) at Great Mills Road with the crash in the intersection.

Units removed the entire roof of one of the vehicles to extricate a victim. A MEDEVAC was requested but was grounded due to the weather. After the victim was removed from the vehicle they were transported by ground to a hospital.

At this time we do not have information on the number of victims involved in the crash except for the one that was trapped and subsequently extricated. Police are on the scene reconstructing the incident.

More information will be added once released by officials.
