Safe Nights provides winter protection for Calvert County’s homeless by offering shelter in a clean and safe environment. A one-time in-person registration is required each season. December 7 –  Children’s Christmas Bingo,  sponsored by the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department’s Auxiliary, Saturday, December 7, 2019, starting at 4:00 pm, at the Fire Department, 8536 Bayside Rd., Chesapeake Beach MD 20732.  Doors will open at 3:00 pm.  Admission is $10.00 per person.  Food and refreshments will be available at an additional cost.  No outside food will be permitted.  Ho!  Ho!  Ho! December 11- 11 am -12 pm -Winterfowl, Ducks on the Chesapeake Bay What birds winter here on the Chesapeake Bay?  Did you know over 20 species of ducks, swans, geese, and loons call our waterfront their wintertime home?  Come learn to identify some of these beautiful birds in this indoor program. Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 11 am to 12 noon we will discuss how conservation efforts keep these migrants returning annually.  We will follow-up with a short Duck Walk at the boardwalk on Saturday, December 14th at 10 am.   For information or to register, please contact Lisa Garrett at 443-646-2426 or lgarrett@northbeachmd.org

December 14- Country  Dance.  For a fun time, come to the Country Dance at the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach in the Upper-Level Ballroom.  If you can’t dance, teachers will be available to give instructions.  One hour lessons commence at 7:00 p.m. followed by dancing from 8:00 p.m. until 11:30. The modest price of $15.00 per person includes soft drinks or draft beer and light munchies.
