California, MD- Tuesday brought mostly rain to the Southern Maryland Region, with some areas receiving a snow/rain mix. Although the roadways were too warm for the snow to really stick; yards, wooded areas, etc. did receive some cover.

Temperatures overnight dipped into the low 30’s in most areas, with areas near the water dipping into the 20’s. Officials in the region are warning drivers to take it slow and give extra time this morning due to possible black ice, or other freezing conditions on some county roadways, and bridges.

If you come across a motor vehicle crash, move to the side to let those involved exit their vehicles safely. If you see flashing lights; fire trucks, ambulances, police, and even tow trucks, pull to the shoulder if possible and stop. If you are passing emergency vehicles at a scene, slow down and move to the next lane away from the scene if possible.
