News Release, Maryland House of Delegates Minority Caucus

ANNAPOLIS, MD –  The House Minority Caucus today unanimously re-elected Delegate Nic Kipke as Minority Leader and Delegate Kathy Szeliga as Minority Whip.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing show of confidence from our colleagues”, said Delegate Szeliga. “Our members are some of the most intelligent, hard-working legislators in Annapolis and we are honored by the trust they have put in us. We already know that a great deal of time in the upcoming session will be spent discussing the education of our children. Our members are focused on holding school systems accountable and supporting classroom teachers and the children they teach so they both have the tools and environments they need to succeed.”

“It is truly humbling to have the support of such an intelligent and talented group of people”, said Delegate Kipke. “Maryland is a fantastic state, but just a quick skim of the headlines makes it clear we face serious challenges. Our citizens are concerned about the safety of their children and their communities and they have grown weary of reports of elected officials abusing power and blatantly breaking the law. The members of our Caucus are ready to move forward with solutions to fight crime and deliver accountability to government.”
