FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its weekly awards following the 15th week of the 2019-20 men’s basketball season. St. Mary’s College first-year forward Gary Grant earned CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades for the third time this season.
Grant recorded a season-high 35 points in a 76-70 CAC victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday (Feb. 15). The first-year forward also tallied four rebounds and three assists. Grant shot 65% from the field and 50% from three-point range. The Washington, D.C. native is currently tied for the team lead in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. The mark comes in at third in the CAC.
The Seahawk men’s basketball team will conclude regular season play on Wednesday, Feb. 19 when they travel to York for a 7 p.m. game.
