UPDATE 10:14 a.m.– Route 4 southbound from Solomons Island is now re-opened per Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE @ 8:42 A.M.- Maryland Route 4 at Kinston Creek Road is now re-opened for Traffic. Watch for any emergency personnel on the scene and expect residual delays.

California, MD- 2/25/2020 @7:45 a.m.- The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is currently responding to a motor vehicle crash on Route 4 near the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge(Solomons Bridge).

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office has sent out a Nixle alert stating the southbound side on the Solomons side of the bridge is currently closed.

The crash is described as a serious MVA near 45461 Patuxent Beach Rd, California, MD 20619.

Watch for emergency vehicles and personnel. Expect extreme delays.
