ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s tennis team (1-3, 0-0 CAC) had its first home match of the Spring season Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 3) as they hosted the Hornets of the University of Lynchburg (2-1, 1-0 ODAC).

St. Mary’s College – 0, Lynchburg – 9
Doubles –
- Celina Kaufman and Sydney Anderson fought hard and took five points from Lynchburg’s Alexa Hardesty and Lauren Pascadlo but ultimately fell with a score of 8-5.
Singles –
- Hallie Hershey had a close first set with the Hornet’s Ellen Druebbisch but lost with a final score of 7-5,6-2. .

ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s tennis team (4-1, 0-0 CAC) hosted its first home match of the Spring season Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 3) as they hosted the Hornets of the University of Lynchburg (2-1, 1-0 ODAC) and walked away with a 7-2 win.
St. Mary’s College – 7, Lynchburg – 2

Doubles –
- Stephen Alam and Ethan Garren teamed up in the top doubles spot and defeated Lynchburg’s Juan Borga and Vincent Oliver with a score of 8-5.
- Seniors Jon Gorel and Ron Stith claimed a dramatic 8-7 victory over the Hornet’s Daniel Christian and Carter McCleary.
- Jack Brandenburg and Sam Sheats completed the doubles sweep with a convincing 8-2 win over Shawn Ikegami and Cooper Brewen.
Singles –
- Alam won in the third spot over Vincent Oliver 6-1,6-1.
- Brandenburg was next in the fourth spot and also took home a point for the Seahawks as he defeated Cooper Brewen 6-3,6-2.
- Stith took a tight 7-6,6-4 win against the Hornet’s Daniel McCleary.
- Sheats rounded out the action and comfortably took a 6-2,6-2 victory over Shawn Ikegami.
