White Plains, MD- Two local realtors are making a difference in our community. Candy Meyers and Lisa Wills both work for ReMax 100 in White Plains, and they are really lighting up Children’s National with their generosity and loving spirits.

They have partnered with Children’s Miracle Network to provide teddy bears, preemie clothing, and equipment for Children’s National Hospital. Their generosity has earned them both Miracle Agent Status with Children’s Miracle Network, which is a fundraising arm for Children’s National.

I had the privilege of speaking with Candy about their fundraising efforts and their accomplishments over the years. According to Candy, this really got started with fire about 4 years ago, though they have been doing donations and fundraising for 10 years, when Candy was invited to participate in a radiothon for Children’s Miracle Network, with the goal to raise enough money to buy each patient a teddy bear.

Every year since 2015, they do a kick-off party at Rucci’s in White Plains, to help raise the money for the teddy bears and equipment Children’s National may have on their wish list. In addition to their fundraising efforts, each and every time they close a real estate transaction, they make a donation to Children’s National in the homeowner’s name, as part of their Miracle Home Program.

Since 2009, Candy and Lisa have donated over 3,000 teddy bears, $500 in preemie clothing for the NICU, 75 kindle tablets, and over $17,000 in cash donations. Each year, 97.1 WASH FM, does a radiothon, usually held in December to help raise the money for Children’s National.
