Nanjemoy, MD- On Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 5:47 p.m. the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department responded to 3875 Oak Grove Place, Nanjemoy, Charles County for a reported structure fire.

Thirty fire fighters responded to the fire, which appeared to have been burning for a significant amount of time prior to a nearby resident calling it in.

The Firefighters had the blaze under control in roughly 15 minutes and the Office of the State Fire Marshal-Southern Region was called to investigate.

According to the Fire Marshal’s report, the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and had been burning for a significant amount of time before being discovered.  The house and it’s contents were completely destroyed. 

Two firefighters were treated and released with minor injuries. The estimated damage to the structure was $250,000 and the contents at $25,000.
