UPDATE April 15, 2020- On April 12 at 2:44 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Brookside Place in Waldorf for the report of the sound of gunshots. 

When officers arrived, they learned a male, age 22, had been shot multiple times and was driven to the hospital by an acquaintance. Detectives are working to establish a motive, but believe the shooting was not random.

The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective N. Garner at (301) 609-6488.

The investigation is ongoing.

Waldorf, MD(April 12, 2020)- Police from Charles County are responding to a shooting in Acton Village, near Acton Lane and Hamilton Road.

Reports are one person has been shot and multiple individuals could be involved. The victim is reported to be conscious and speaking. A grey vehicle, possibly a sedan is being sought by police.

Police on the scanner are reporting a vehicle is off the road and could be related to the incident. Details are sketchy at this time due to the number of units involved. We will update when more information becomes available.

Watching for emergency vehicles and personnel, and expect detours in the area.
