Keeping social distancing in mind, I am not visiting restaurants right now. However, I am going to let you know about some of the wonderful places I have been to in the last year. In the upcoming weeks, I’m going to provide links to some of my original articles, and let you know about their current status.

Helen’s Café

29890 Three Notch Road, Building A

Charlotte Hall, MD

Helen’s Café is one of my favorites! Helen and her crew are wonderful, and they make delicious homecooked food! The breakfast is fabulous (best Creamed Chipped Beef around), the sandwiches are scrumptious, and the specials are amazing.

Helen’s Café hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00am to 3:00pm. As soon as COVID-19 numbers start to decrease, they will expand to Wednesday through Sunday 7:00am to 3:00pm. Check their Facebook page for updates.

In addition, Helen’s Café offers delivery within a 10-mile radius, curbside pick-up, or carryout.

La Sierra

2290 Old Washington Road, #12399

Waldorf, Md

Barbacoa Taco and Refried Bean Pupusas

If you want the best authentic Mexican food around, you owe it to yourself to go to La Sierra. Maria and Julia make the best fresh, delicious food. They make tortillas, by hand, every day. I was going to list my favorites…but really…everything is my favorite! It is all flavorful and cooked to perfection.

The hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00 pm.
