White Plains, MD- On Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 12:53 p.m., the owner of a storage facility contacted emergency services for a fire in a boat stored there.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called to investigate. The fire involved a custom-designed, aluminum boat. The boat sustained significant fire damage to the cockpit and hull. Through the investigation and evidence obtained at the scene, the fire was determined to be intentionally set. 

The Fire Marshal estimates the loss of property to be $85,000. There were no injuries reported with this incident.
