LEONARDTOWN, MD – May 7, 2020.State’s Attorney Richard Fritz directs $60,000.00 to the St. Mary’s County Board of County Commissioners for their immediate use for COVID-19 response and recovery efforts.

In a May 7, 2020 letter to the County Administrator for St. Mary’s County, State’s Attorney Richard Fritz writes: “Let me first start by offering my thanks and appreciation to you and the St. Mary’s County Board of County Commissioners for your leadership and dedication to the citizens of this great County. As we are all fighting this unprecedented worldwide pandemic together, I am offering funds from my office’s current budget,for immediate use, to go towards the COVID-19 response and recovery efforts if the Board deems it appropriate. I have directed my Deputy State’s Attorney, Jaymi Sterling, to allocate$60,000out of the State’s Attorney’s Office’s FY2020 budget to the County for this greater purpose. We hope that this money can assist the County and its citizens in our fight together against this invisible enemy. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I remain.
