LEONARDTOWN, MD – The Commissioners of St. Mary’s County unanimously approved the St. Mary’s County Board of Education FY2021 budget appropriation for $109,542,921, of recurring funding and the Capital Improvement Budget including $18,115,327, of which $12,734,346 is county funding during the joint Commissioners of St. Mary’s County and Board of Education Meeting Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Also, during the joint meeting, the Commissioners approved $400,000 to purchase student laptops enabling more students to have the equipment needed to participate in distance learning opportunities during the COVID19 pandemic. On May 11, 2020, the St. Mary’s County States Attorney’s Office along with the St. Mary’s County Commissioner’s reallocated the remaining money from Project Graduation 2020 to help in purchasing 315 more laptops.
