News Release, Calvert Hospice
Prince Frederick, MD – Calvert Hospice was recently the grateful recipient of a donation of $7,302 from Exelon employees.
We asked Janna Jackson, Communications Manager for Exelon’s Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, to share information with us about the fundraiser, and she shared: “Each year during Calvert Cliffs planned refueling outage, we bring about 1,500 additional people on to the site. We design a new T-shirt each year to commemorate the outage and sell those shirts to Calvert Cliffs’ employees and those supporting the effort. The site covers the cost of the shirts to allow 100% of the proceeds to go into our community fund that is designated to support local non-profits. This was the first year that we designated specific days to support one of our local non-profit partners. The first day was so well received that we added two additional days focused only on raising funds for Calvert Hospice.”
We also asked Ms. Jackson what made them choose to support Calvert Hospice in this way, and she said, “Calvert Hospice has touched so many of our Calvert Cliffs families throughout the years. It’s important to us to support the groups that care for our families when they need it the most.” We are so thankful to the employees who chose to donate to our organization this year.
Generous donors allow us to continue providing the expert, compassionate care our patients and families deserve.
