Budds Creek, MD- Due to restrictions placed on entertainment venues during the Coronoavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic multiple large events are being canceled in Southern Maryland.

The latest large-scale event to fall is the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and the Capital Motocross Cup, both held at Budds Creek Motocross Park.

Ezra Beasley, organizer of the Capital Motocross Cup posted recently to the Budds Creek page:

We, Pro Ready Racing, are saddened to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Capital Motocross Cup. Unfortunately, Governor Hogan and the state government have still outlawed spectator events (events of 250+) in their COVID19 restrictions. For this same reason, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross will not return to Maryland in 2020. The plan is for both the Capital Motocross Cup and Pro Motocross to return to Budds Creek in 2021. In addition, we would like to thank MX Sports for their support. We would also like to thank 100 Percent, SGB Racing, RNB Racing and all of the other companies helping with our series. My dad Jonathan Beasley, will continue to be open everyday for practice unaffiliated with Pro Ready Racing. -Ezra Beasley, Pro Ready Racing

As for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross event scheduled for August 22, 2020, it is scheduled now to return in 2021. The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship has adjusted its schedule for eight tracks in the USA that allow it to put on a large scale event.

You can keep up to date with what is happening at Budds Creek Motocross Park on their Facebook page.
