Charlotte Hall, MD- At approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at Golden Beach Road and Maryland Route 5. A full-sized pickup truck crossed into the grassy median and collided with the pole that held the northbound side and center crossover traffic lights.

The patient was attended to by rescue personnel and was transported to an area hospital by MEDEVAC.

This morning, the St. Mary County Sheriff’s Office advises that the crossover between Golden Beach Road and Route 5 will be closed for repairs for roughly two weeks. Expect serious delays during rush hour times and extended delays during regular commuting hours.
