LATHAM, N.Y. – First-year Colin Horton (University Park, Md./Elizabeth Seton) was named the United East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 13 as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s lacrosse team posted a 1-1 record this past week, outlasting No. 11 Messiah College, 16-15, in overtime (Mar. 10) before falling 16-12 to Haverford College (Mar. 12). Horton tallied nine goals, five ground balls, five draw controls, and one caused turnover over the two games.

The 5-9 midfielder started the week with season-bests of five goals and three ground balls plus three draw controls and one caused turnover in the overtime victory over Messiah. Horton then added four goals, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the loss to Haverford.
She currently ranks fourth in the United East with 15 goals while owning the fifth-best totals in draw controls (20) and points (16).
St. Mary’s College (2-3) will be back in action this Wednesday, March 16, when the Seahawks host Washington College (2-3) in a non-conference game at 3:30 p.m. in the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
