On the morning of February 2, during a class change at St. Charles High School, a student was assaulted by three peers. The school’s administrators intervened to separate the students, and the injured student received treatment from the school nurse. The same day, a student at Westlake High School was found in possession of cannabis, tobacco filler, and a small scale. Charged with a civil citation for cannabis possession, the student also faces school-imposed disciplinary measures. An altercation at La Plata High School on February 1 involved three students, resulting in minor injuries for two of them, treated by the school. The school resource officer and administrators managed to deescalate the situation, and the students were released to their parents. The incident is under investigation by M/Cpl. Another drug-related incident occurred at North Point High School on February 1, where a student was found with suspected cannabis. The school’s resource officer intervened, leading to a civil citation for the student under Maryland law.
