St. Mary’s City, MD – In a dominant display of basketball, the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Basketball Team celebrated Senior Day with a resounding 80-42 win over the Penn State Berks Nittany Lions at Ed Cole Court. The victory improved the Seahawks’ season record to 13-8, while the Nittany Lions fell to 1-18.
St. Mary’s established control from the outset, ending the first quarter with a 23-14 lead. Sam Blaylock was instrumental, sinking two three-pointers early on. Olivia Liszt also made significant contributions, adding five points, including a three-pointer. Tray Mobray, Amira Whitaker, and Melanie Aguilar each contributed four points to solidify the Seahawks’ lead.

The second quarter saw St. Mary’s intensify their defense, allowing Penn State Berks a mere 7% shooting from the field and outscoring them 14-2. Blaylock and Whitaker’s contributions and Olivia Hedrick’s four consecutive points propelled St. Mary’s to a commanding 37-16 halftime lead.
Continuing their aggressive play, the Seahawks had seven players score in the third quarter, outpacing the Nittany Lions 21-12. Rayna Miller led with six points, and Marley Saunders capped the quarter with a three-pointer, pushing the lead to over 30 points.
The final quarter continued St. Mary’s dominance, with Hedrick adding four points to her total and Blaylock showcasing her range with more three-pointers. Charlotte Donnellan also contributed with a layup, cementing the Seahawks’ comprehensive victory.
