In an unprecedented turn of events, the Mega Millions jackpot has surged to a staggering $607 million, marking only the eighth instance in the game’s history where the prize has exceeded the $600 million threshold. The jackpot escalation follows a series of draws without a grand prize winner, most recently on Tuesday night when no participants matched all six numbers. The elusive combination included the white balls 6, 18, 26, 27, and 49 and the gold Mega Ball 4. The colossal prize, accumulating since December 8 after a win shared by two tickets in California, is now set for a draw on Friday, March 1, offering a cash option of $286.9 million.

Despite the absence of a jackpot victor in the latest draw, the night saw a Florida ticket holder matching the five white balls, securing the game’s second-tier prize of $1 million. This success was part of a broader landscape of wins, with 1,017,837 tickets across various prize levels finding fortune Tuesday night. Notably, 27 nationwide tickets clinched the third-tier prize by matching four white balls plus the Mega Ball. A select six of these tickets are now valued at $30,000 each, thanks to the incorporation of the Megaplier, an additional feature that tripled their prize. At the same time, the remaining 21 winners are awarded the standard $10,000.

Throughout this jackpot run, more than 15 million tickets have won prizes at all levels below the jackpot, with awards ranging from $2 to $4 million. This includes 26 second-tier prizes of $1 million or more, distributed across 17 jurisdictions, including states from Arizona to Virginia, showcasing the widespread appeal and participation in the Mega Millions game.

Mega Millions is the sole lottery game to have disbursed five jackpots over $1 billion, with each significant win occurring in a different state, including Florida, South Carolina, Maine, Illinois, and Michigan. Available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mega Millions tickets are priced at $2. Players can enhance their potential winnings by adding the Megaplier for an additional dollar, further sweetening the pot for non-jackpot prizes. The draws, which take place in Atlanta, Georgia, are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, continuing to captivate and excite participants nationwide with the prospect of life-changing winnings.
