California, MD – The Southern Maryland Bluegrass at the Elks series is set to host the acclaimed bluegrass band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, on March 24, 2024, at the Calvert Elks Lodge #2620 in Prince Frederick, MD. Marking a significant milestone, the event celebrates 30 years of the band’s extensive touring and contribution to bluegrass music. Doors will open at noon, with the performance slated to begin at 2:00 PM.

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out have been a staple in the bluegrass scene for over three decades, known for their original music and energetic performances. Moore, who began his career with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, formed IIIrd Tyme Out in 1991, bringing a fresh, vibrant sound to the bluegrass genre. Since then, the band has received over 50 industry accolades, making them one of the most awarded groups in bluegrass history. In 2019, Moore secured his 6th Male Vocalist of the Year award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), holding the record for most awards in that category.

Reflecting on the band’s journey, Moore shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming celebration. “Even with all these years into it, we’re just as ready to hit the road and play the music as we were our first day on the road in 1991,” he said. The event at the Calvert Elks Lodge, located at 1015 Dares Beach Road, is an opportunity for fans and newcomers alike to experience the enduring appeal of Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out. Tickets are priced at $23.00 per person, available at the door, with free admission for children under 12 accompanied by a paying adult. In addition to the musical performance, attendees can enjoy food sold by the Calvert Elks Lodge from noon until 2:30 PM, participate in a 50/50 raffle, and win door prizes.
