ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE) confirmed the certification of the 2024 Presidential primary election ballots, a critical step toward ensuring a smooth electoral process for voters. Officially posted for public review, the ballots are accessible via the SBE website until the March 13 deadline for judicial scrutiny.

In a move to uphold transparency and voter engagement, the SBE has opened a window for registered voters to seek judicial review of the ballots, emphasizing the state’s commitment to accurate and fair elections. Following the review period, the board will proceed with any necessary amendments before commencing the ballot printing process. Voters harboring inquiries about the ballots are encouraged to reach out to the SBE via email at info.sbe@maryland.gov.

State Administrator Jared DeMarinis articulated the board’s dedication to voter education, “As the trusted source for information regarding elections in Maryland, it is our mission to keep voters updated on all aspects of the upcoming election.” He further urged voters to peruse the ballots and stay informed about critical dates and deadlines through the SBE website or social media platforms.

In preparation for the election, the SBE highlighted the deadline for voters to request mail-in ballots to be included in the initial mailing round set for April 1, 2024. Requests after the March 15 cut-off will result in ballots being dispatched in later mailings. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of maximizing voter participation and convenience.

Moreover, the SBE is championing voter registration and updates through its online system. Eligible Maryland residents are encouraged to register, change party affiliations, or update personal details such as address and name. For those preferring offline methods, registration forms are available in English and Spanish for submission at local election board offices.

Maryland offers three voting modalities for the primary: early in-person voting at designated locations, mail-in ballots, and traditional in-person voting on election day at assigned polling stations. The SBE’s message to voters is clear: make a plan and participate in the electoral process.

With these measures, Maryland aims to foster an informed electorate and facilitate a seamless voting experience in the upcoming presidential primary.
