Waldorf, MD – A homicide investigation is ongoing in the Waldorf area following a shooting incident on Snow Owl Place, which resulted in the death of an 18-year-old male on the evening of March 16.

Charles County Police were called to the 11300 block of Snow Owl Place around 8:37 p.m. following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered a young male, later identified as Jayden Samari Reed of Waldorf, with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Despite immediate medical attention from Emergency Medical Services, Reed succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests the gunfire erupted during what is believed to have been a drug transaction. Reed was struck and fatally wounded, and another male at the scene also sustained gunshot wounds; however, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
