LEONARDTOWN, MD – Authorities have arrested 32-year-old Darryl Anthony White Robinite of Leonardtown, Maryland, on multiple charges related to a severe child abuse case. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office disclosed that Robinite is facing charges of felony child abuse, second-degree child abuse, and both first- and second-degree assault following an incident that occurred on the evening of April 4, 2024.

Responding to a distress call at approximately 7:47 p.m., deputies arrived at a residence in Leonardtown to find a juvenile with significant injuries, including multiple abrasions around the neck area and a laceration to the face. The exact relationship between Robinite and the victim has not been disclosed by the authorities.

The initial investigation led to Robinite’s arrest, after which he was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing to determine the conditions of his possible release.

This incident has drawn attention to the broader issue of child welfare within the community, raising questions about the mechanisms in place to protect vulnerable minors from abuse.
