LEONARDTOWN, MD — On Thursday, a significant law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a Lexington Park man, with officers seizing an assortment of drugs, a gun part, and other items suggesting drug trafficking activities.
The operation, carried out by St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies, targeted Trevone Damone Butler, 33. Authorities executed search and seizure warrants at Butler’s residence on Admiral Lane as well as on his vehicle, uncovering illegal substances and paraphernalia linked to drug distribution.
During the raid, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, supported by the Emergency Services Team and the Vice/Narcotics Support Team, apprehended Butler without any reported incidents. The search of his residence led to the discovery of U.S. currency, suspected crack cocaine, and a digital scale with residue. Notably, officers also found an unserialized lower receiver for an AR-15-style rifle, often referred to as a “ghost gun” due to its lack of a serial number, making it difficult to trace.
The search extended to Butler’s vehicle, where further quantities of suspected Ketamine and crack cocaine were found, alongside additional drug paraphernalia. The condition and packaging of these substances indicated a possible intent to distribute.
Butler now faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession of firearms during a drug trafficking crime, possession of firearms by a felon, possession of production equipment, and related firearm offenses.
He is currently being held at the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, MD.
The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and associated crimes in the region, reflecting a broader push to address community safety and crime prevention.
