LEONARDTOWN, MD — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is raising concerns about a popular game among high school seniors called “Senior Assassin,” citing safety risks and a recent incident that caused public alarm. The game involves students trying to “eliminate” each other using water guns or stickers, based on randomly assigned targets.
This past Monday, local law enforcement responded to reports of suspicious figures, masked and approaching residential homes, which later turned out to be participants in the game. The situation highlights how such activities can be mistaken for genuine threats, thereby misdirecting police resources and heightening community fears.
The Sheriff’s Office is advising parents to discuss the inherent dangers of the game with their children and encourage alternative activities. By raising awareness, they hope to prevent misunderstandings and ensure community safety is not compromised.
