Leonardtown, MD — On May 18th, the picturesque Leonardtown Wharf will transform into a lively festival ground for the Military Appreciation Concert, honoring veterans and active service members. The event, set from 5 pm to 7 pm, is part of the town’s “On the Water’s Edge” concert series and will feature the veteran-composed band Cover Your Six.
The Leonardtown Summer Music Festival invites all veterans and their families to enjoy an evening filled with music and gratitude. Jimmy Hayden, Realtor of RE/MAX 100 and Homes for Heroes, sponsors this special occasion, dedicated to those who have served our country.

Event-goers will experience more than just great music. The festival includes raffles, giveaways, and a variety of food options. Attendees can enjoy award-winning wines from the Port of Leonardtown Winery, beer from the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, and sweet treats from Frog Town Ice Cream Shop. The Auxiliary of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department will also offer delicious eats, enhancing the community feel of the event.
Adding to the convenience and charm, a free shuttle service will be available. The Leonardtown Trolley, courtesy of Patuxent Transportation and the Commissioners of Leonardtown, will run from the Leonardtown Square to the Wharf from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. For those arriving by water, the town’s new slips are open, allowing guests to enjoy the concert directly from their boats.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to comfortably partake in the various yard games and activities planned. This family-friendly event promises an engaging evening for both land and sea attendees.
