The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC), a division of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, has appointed Sabrina Dobbins as the Agriculture Program Coordinator and Terri Wright Gresholm as the Administrative & Grants Coordinator. This strategic move aims to strengthen the organization’s efforts in supporting Southern Maryland’s agricultural community.
Sabrina Dobbins, a native of Southern Maryland with a profound agricultural background, steps into the role of Agriculture Program Coordinator following the retirement of Susan McQuilkin. McQuilkin has served SMADC with dedication for twenty years.

“While we are certainly reluctant to see Susan go, as she has been an integral part of the SMADC team and mission since the beginning, we are excited for her to enjoy her well-earned retirement,” said Shelby Watson-Hampton, SMADC Director. “We are equally excited to welcome Sabrina to the team and are pleased to have Susan be able to shepherd Sabrina into the position and mentor her during Susan’s last six weeks with us. I have no doubt that Sabrina will continue Susan’s great work and legacy as the Agriculture Program Coordinator.”
Dobbins, who grew up in Calvert County and now resides in Leonardtown, St. Mary’s County, has been involved in 4-H from a young age, fostering a deep passion for farming. Her entrepreneurial experience includes running a successful small business focused on goat milk soap. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
In addition to Dobbins, Terri Wright Gresholm has been appointed as the new Administrative & Grants Coordinator. Gresholm previously served as an Administrative Assistant at the TCCSMD Youth and Young Adult Program. Her administrative expertise and commitment to empowering others will be instrumental in streamlining operations and driving impactful initiatives within SMADC.
“We are delighted to welcome both Sabrina Dobbins and Terri Wright Gresholm to the SMADC team,” said Watson-Hampton. “Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to agricultural and youth development will greatly benefit our organization’s mission to support and promote Southern Maryland’s agricultural community.”
Gresholm’s proven track record of excellence and her commitment to community support make her a valuable asset to SMADC. Her new role will involve managing administrative tasks and coordinating grants to enhance the organization’s operational efficiency.
The transition in leadership is seen as a significant step towards bolstering SMADC’s mission. Both appointees bring a wealth of experience and a shared passion for agriculture and community development.
SMADC continues to focus on initiatives that support local farmers and the agricultural industry in Southern Maryland. The organization provides resources, education, and support to ensure the sustainability and growth of agriculture in the region.
The leadership changes come at a pivotal time for SMADC as the organization seeks to expand its outreach and impact. The appointments of Dobbins and Gresholm are expected to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the commission’s work.
