The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, narrowly defeated the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, 2-1 on Tuesday night at FNB Field.
With Bowie holding a slim lead in the bottom of the ninth, right-hander Keagan Gillies faced a high-pressure situation. With the tying run on third and the winning run on second for Harrisburg, Gillies had to contend with back-to-back Top 100 prospects, Dylan Crews and Brady House. Gillies struck out Crews for the second out and then induced a flyout from House to secure the win, earning his second save of the season.

Baysox starter Alex Pham delivered a stellar performance, pitching six shutout innings. Pham, who improved to 2-1, allowed only two hits, walked none, and struck out six batters. He retired the last 11 hitters he faced, setting a season-high in innings pitched. Reliever Dan Hammer followed with two scoreless innings to maintain the shutout.
Offensively, the Baysox recorded 10 hits. The first run came in the fourth inning when Anthony Servideo walked and later scored on a single by Dylan Beavers. Despite leaving the bases loaded in that inning and stranding nine runners overall, Bowie managed to score again in the ninth. Jud Fabian hit a solo home run, his tenth of the season, to give the Baysox a 2-0 lead. Fabian’s performance marked his fifth game with three or more hits this season.
Harrisburg’s starter, Michael Cuevas, scattered eight hits over six and two-thirds innings, taking the loss to fall to 1-5. The Senators managed to score in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single from Andrew Pinckney, but their rally was halted by Gillies.
The win places Bowie (30-27) just two-and-a-half games out of first place in the Southwest Division, with 11 games remaining in the first half of the season. The Baysox continue their series against Harrisburg on Wednesday, with right-hander Cameron Weston (2-3, 3.28 ERA) set to start against Harrisburg’s Brad Lord (6-1, 1.75 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET at FNB Field.
Following this series, Bowie will return home on June 18 to begin a six-game homestand against the Altoona Curve, the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, at Prince George’s Stadium.
