LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The Town of Leonardtown and the Leonardtown Business Association invite the community to join them for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration at the Fourth at the Wharf event. Scheduled for July 4th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the event will take place at the scenic Leonardtown Wharf and promises an afternoon of fun, music, contests, and activities for all ages.
This vibrant celebration is made possible by generous sponsors including Jimmy Hayden, Realtor of RE/MAX 100 and Homes for Heroes, Mattingley Gardiner Funeral Home, Earthwise Pet Leonardtown, and Town Market.

The highlight of the day will be a series of entertaining activities designed to engage the entire family. Attendees can participate in crab derbies, watermelon eating contests, and a dog parade. For music enthusiasts, the live concert by Midnight Sunsets will provide an energetic soundtrack to the festivities.
Additional activities include golf challenges, pony rides, axe throwing, and art activities, ensuring there is something for everyone. The event will also feature a variety of food and beverage vendors offering tasty eats, treats, and drinks for purchase.
Guests can arrive at the Wharf by land or water. The Leonardtown Trolley, provided by Patuxent Transportation and courtesy of the Commissioners of Leonardtown, will offer free shuttle rides from Leonardtown Square to the Wharf from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. For those arriving by boat, the Town’s new slips will be open, allowing visitors to enjoy the event from the comfort of their own vessels. Land attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
“Celebrate America’s birthday with us at the Wharf! This is a community event you won’t want to miss,” organizers stated. The event is designed to foster community spirit and patriotic pride, bringing together family, friends, and neighbors for a day of enjoyment and celebration.
