Ocean City, MD – A two-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by a tram on the Ocean City Boardwalk, according to the local police. The accident occurred near Dorchester Street around 8:14 p.m. on August 20, 2024.
Authorities reported that the toddler was crossing the designated tram pathway when a southbound tram collided with him. Ocean City Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced the child dead at the scene.
Following the incident, both tram conductors cooperated with law enforcement and remained on site. The Ocean City Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit has taken charge of the investigation and is actively seeking information from witnesses.
