Waldorf, Maryland – A high-speed crash on United States Route 301 resulted in the death of one individual and serious injuries to two others late Saturday night, according to Maryland State Police.
At approximately 9:53 p.m. on August 31, 2024, troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack were called to the scene north of Maryland Route 5. The incident prompted the dispatch of a Collision Reconstruction Specialist (CRS), Tpr. H. Gardner, who led the investigative efforts.
The preliminary findings suggest that Isaiah Noble, 24, of Hagerstown, Maryland, was speeding northbound on Route 301 in an unregistered 2006 Suzuki GSXR-600 motorcycle when he collided with a Toyota RAV4 attempting to transition from the southbound to northbound lanes through a crossover. The RAV4, driven by Lucretia Jones, 48, of Crofton, Maryland, and passenger Timothy Travis, 57, of Accokeek, Maryland, was struck on the passenger side.
Noble was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries described as incompatible with life. Both Jones and Travis sustained serious injuries and were airlifted by Maryland State Police Helicopters Trooper 2 and Trooper 7 to the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for urgent care.
Investigators have pointed to excessive speed as a contributing factor in the devastating collision.
