The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Volleyball team (4-5) lost their first match to Methodist (3-1) but rebounded with a win over Shenandoah (3-1) in the second game. The Seahawks dropped a first-set match to Methodist (9-1) but rebounded with a win over Shenandoah (6-5) in the second game.
In the opening set, Methodist controlled the momentum and led 25-16 to open up the match. Despite a four-point run by St. Mary’s to trim the Methodist lead to seven, the Seahawks fell 25-16 in the second game.

St. Mary’s rallied in the third set and tied the game with Methodist at 12. The Seahawks went on another run, this for five unanswered points, to retake the lead. The Seahawks evened the match up at one apiece.
The fourth set played out very similarly to the third, with Methodist using a big run to gain control in what was a very competitive match to that point. Methodist finished the set with a 25-18 advantage to earn a match victory.
St. Mary’s – 3 Shenandoah- 1
In the second game of the day, St. Mary’s went on a 2-0 set lead after winning the first set. Despite the strong result, St. Mary’s fell behind big in the third set, trailing 21-13 at one point. The Seahawks rallied by scoring 12 of the last 14 points of the set to earn the victory.
