Emma Watkins, a field hockey player for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland, has been named the league’s first-ever Offensive Player of the Week.

Watkins was named to the award by the United East Conference after she scored two goals in a two-shot win over Randolph-Macon College on Sept. 11. She was the second game in which Watkins had been injured.

The 4-11 forward is tied for fifth in the United East with two goals and is tied for sixth with four points. She has two shots on goal and two shots.

St. Mary’s College will take on Stevenson University in a non-conference game on Wednesday. The Seahawks will travel to Owings Mills, Md., to take on Stevenson University.
