DAHLGREN, Va., Sept. 23, 2024 — The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) will conduct range testing on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The testing, which will occur outside of the facility’s normal operating hours, is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. During this time, the Potomac River will remain open, and there will be no closure for the testing.

The NSWCDD, which routinely tests and develops advanced naval technologies, conducts these tests to evaluate various weapons systems. The extended hours for testing on Sept. 24 will ensure comprehensive testing of the equipment, but local residents and boaters should not experience significant disruptions.

For individuals or organizations interested in viewing NSWCDD’s range schedule or receiving further updates, the division provides a toll-free hotline and online resources. The hotline for updates is available at (877) 845-5656, and the full schedule of range activities can be found on the Potomac River Test Range website here.

Questions or requests for additional information can be directed to the NSWCDD Public Affairs Office. The office can be reached by email at NSWCD_103.fct@navy.mil or by phone at (540) 653-8154.
