WASHINGTON, D.C. – St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s soccer team cruised to a commanding 13-0 victory over Gallaudet University in United East Conference (UEC) play Tuesday night (Oct. 8). Sophomore forward Lucas Evans led the charge for the Seahawks, recording a career-high four goals and two assists in the decisive win. The triumph marks the third consecutive UEC victory for St. Mary’s (4-6-2, 3-0-0 UEC), as they continue their unbeaten streak in conference play. Gallaudet (2-9, 1-2 UEC) struggled to contain St. Mary’s relentless offense throughout the match.

How It Happened
The Seahawks wasted no time establishing their dominance, jumping to a 3-0 lead within the first 20 minutes of the match. Two of those early goals came from Evans, who struck twice in quick succession, while senior forward Alex Ochman added the third goal at 19:29. This trio of goals was part of a two-minute flurry that left Gallaudet reeling.
St. Mary’s momentum continued to build, as Evans and sophomore midfielder Christian Johnson scored just 28 seconds apart, pushing the lead to 5-0 by the 22:37 mark. The Seahawks carried their offensive firepower into the halftime break, holding a 7-0 lead, bolstered by goals from first-year forward William Marbray and fifth-year defender Garrett Bridgwater.
In the second half, St. Mary’s showed no signs of slowing down. Marbray added two more goals, completing a hat trick, while first-year forward Nick Haney also found the net twice, contributing his first goals as a Seahawk. Junior midfielder Ryan Cooper provided three assists in the second half, as the Seahawks tallied an additional six goals to cap off a dominant performance.

St. Mary’s completely overwhelmed Gallaudet, finishing with a staggering 29-1 shot advantage, including 18 shots on goal, while Gallaudet failed to register a single shot on target. The Seahawks also held an 8-0 edge in corner kicks, further emphasizing their control of the match.

For Gallaudet, Luke McBrine and Jeremy Novas-Duran combined to make five saves, but the Bison were unable to slow down the Seahawks’ offensive onslaught.
