Hospice of the Chesapeake’s annual Golf Tournament, held at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course on Sept. 26, 2024, raised nearly $225,000 for the not-for-profit organization, which provides essential services in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and Prince George’s counties. This year’s event, buoyed by a long list of sponsors, volunteers, and more than 250 participants, proved to be a resounding success.

The funds raised will support Hospice of the Chesapeake’s programs and services aimed at helping individuals and families impacted by advanced illness. The tournament’s atmosphere, filled with camaraderie, food, and drinks, contributed to the lively environment and successful turnout.

Tournament Highlights

The day began with a warm welcome for participants, who were treated to an omelet bar before heading to the course. As golfers made their way through the scenic Queenstown Harbor, they were greeted with a variety of refreshments, including shrimp, oysters, bourbon, and a grilled lunch at the turn. The day concluded with a gourmet awards banquet, recognizing participants and the vital contributions of the event’s many sponsors.

Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Golf Committee, a dedicated group of volunteers, was instrumental in organizing the event. Their efforts, combined with the support from sponsors and attendees, were crucial in achieving such a significant fundraising total.
